Welcome to 2012!

January 16th-January 20th

• NO SCHOOL – January 16th due to Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday
• February Lunch Menus are due January 18th
• End of Second Quarter is Friday, January 20th

• Spelling: Unit 17 exam on the 20th, book check during the week, and pretest on Tuesday
• No Vocabulary this week
• Religion: We are working on be good leaders in 2012 our oral prayer exam will be on the 20th
• Social Studies: We are finishing up Egypt, working on our mummies and hieroglyphics.  Our first test will be on Friday the 20th, study guide will be given Tuesday We will be in China next and the Chinese New Year will be on the 23rd It is your child’s year, Year of the Dragon!
• Mathematics: We just had our Chapter 5 exam and will start Chapter 6 Tuesday, we will be going through this chapter very quickly so study at home on the weekends so you don’t fall behind.  It will be on Fractions
• Science: Our crystal lab will be done next week and we will be finishing up Ch. 6 in our Dynamic Earth text; a test will follow soon after and a Power Point that will be done in their computer class.  Our Endangered species projects have been outstanding!
• English: Unit 3 Nouns exam will be next Thursday
• Literature: We are still working on our writing and reading, Where the Red Fern Grows
