About the St Rose of Lima 5K

In the spirit of building community, nurturing family time, good health, and celebrating our Catholic faith and values, the St. Rose of Lima School community is organizing a 5k FUN RUN to take place in the Bonita/ Chula Vista area at Rohr Park, on April 2, 2017. Our school is one of many value-based organizations in our larger South Bay community which fosters the kind of moral character that we know will compel its members to contribute to society in a meaningful way and to give back- within our families and beyond- but it stands out for the enthusiasm and principles that help us live value-based and purpose-driven lives. Plus it's just plain FUN!

RACE FAQ's

How do I sign up for the race?

Please visit our website at www.strosecvschool.com/5K or our Facebook page at St.Rose 5K. We accept most credit cards and PayPal. If you would rather pay by check, please stop by the St. Rose of Lima school office and pick up a registration form.

How can I verify my registration?

Upon registration all participants will receive a confirmatory email verifying payment and registration. If you do not receive the verification please send an email to StRosePTG@gmail.com. We will promptly verify the information for you.

Something came up and I can't run. Can I get a refund or transfer my entry?

We're really sorry to hear and hope that you can join us next year. Unfortunately, we cannot refund your entry. However, we will honor transferring to another participant. Please contact us for further information.

Will you email me more information closer to the event?

We sure will! We will send a reminder email with more information regarding the pasta expo and race day activities.

Where is the start of the 5K?

The start will be at North side of Rohr park at the entrance off of Sweetwater Road. The area has a large gazebo.

Can I walk this race?

Absolutely! We love our walkers. This event is a family fun walk run. We encourage everyone to participate. We are not holding you to any particular pace. We want you to have a fun and safe day.

Is there an age minimum or maximum?

Everyone is invited. We would love families to walk or run together. Fellowship is most important. We encourage those five years and above to register for the race.

Are there toilets on site?

Definitely! They are located at the start and finish of the race.

Where do I park?

We encourage carpooling to the event since parking may be limited. However, there is parking on site at Rohr Park. We are also allowed to park in the Grace Valley Church parking lot.

Are strollers or baby carriers permitted?

Safety is most important. However, understanding that families may have little ones and strollers, we will be allowing strollers to go behind the faster runners and walkers.

Are dogs allowed?

For the safety of the runners and young children in the race, we would advise against bringing your pets.

Are bikes allowed?

You may ride your bike to the race. However, bicycles are not allowed on the course race day.

Where do I pick up my race gear and waiver?

We will be distributing (race) materials before the race (Come at 7AM). CLICK HERE to Download the Liability Waiver. Fill out and bring your waiver with you.

What is my race gear?

Our gear is awesome! We will be giving you a swag bag filled with race materials including your T-shirt. Upon crossing the finish line, you will receive your finisher medal.

What is your cancellation & refund policy?

Unfortunately we are unable to offer refunds and we will run, rain or shine. However, we do permit registration (bib) transfers to other participants.

What is the Pasta Expo?

The Pasta Expo is a delicious dinner prepared by the Italian Catholic Federation of St. Rose of Lima. They will be hosting this event. If you cannot stay for dinner, you are welcome to get a takeout platter. The cost is still to be determined. Bring your family and friends, it is a fun event in preparation for our race. All are welcome.

Due to the extensive damage at Rohr Park during the recent rains, the Pop for Christ 5k has been rescheduled to April 2, 2017. Thank you for your understanding and see you then!
